Rental Instruments

We offer a wide variety of instruments for rent. Our prices are listed below, followed by additional information. For a printable sheet of our rental fees, click here.

If you are looking ahead, and considering the renatl of a band or orchestra instrument for the 2012/2013 school year: Please contact us over the summer (after the conclussion of the current school year) to reserve an instrument. Contacting us early will help ensure availability. Also, please note: we are aware that you may be choosing between severlal places to rent your instrument. Please ask your friends who have rented from us about our fast, friendly, reliable service. We think they'll recommend us highly! We look forward to helping you.

*Percussion/Bell Kit: Rent to own: 3 payments of $95.40 (3 months @ $30.00/month, plus tax) and the kit is yours to keep. Total cost: $270.00 ($286.20, including 6% CT sales tax).

Electric Guitars, Basses and Amplifiers: The Westport Music Center is no longer renting these items. Instead, we are making a large selection of used electric guitars, basses and amplifiers available for sale. Please contact us for additional info.

Information about our rental program:

A VALID MASTERCARD, VISA, OR AMEX NUMBER IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE ALL RENTAL CONTRACTS.

CREDIT CARD REQUIRED FOR AUTOMATIC RENEWAL EVERY 3 MONTHS

All instruments are available for rental on a 3-month minimum basis.

Rental fees include the cost of any necessary repairs during the rental period without exception, including the replacement of the instrument in the event of loss or theft.

Rental monies can be applied to the purchase of your rental instrument as follows:

Up to 24 months of rental fees may be applied to the purchase of your rented violin or viola.

Up to 12 months of rental fees may be applied to the purchase of your rented cello, string bass, trumpet, trombone, piccolo, flute, clarinet or saxophone.

Up to 6 months of rental fees may be applied to the purchase of your rented drum set, guitar, electric bass and/or amplifier.

If you choose to rent an instrument, we can generally have it ready to be picked up within about 24 hours. Additional time (2 to 3 days) may be required during the busy "rental season" (the month of September). You're welcome to visit us in person, but your rental can be arranged right over the phone at (203) 259-7615 or online. Please note that we may eventually rent out all of our instruments, so always try to contact us with as much advance notice as possible.

The Westport Public Schools no longer send the rental forms home with students! You may download the form by clicking HERE, or you may submit your information online by clicking HERE. Also, please submit your form as early as reasonable possible...we will eventually rent out all our instruments!

Delivery
During the beginning of each school year, we deliver the rental instruments to many schools in the Westport area. (More specifically, all the Westport Public Schools 4th grade orchestra instruments and 5th grade band instruments.) Please contact us as early as possible to ensure delivery. We begin reserving instruments for the upcoming school year the preceeding May. Deliveries tend to be early or mid-September. Please try to contact us within the May-August time frame to be included in the school deliveries.

We deliver rental drum sets within Fairfield County (CT).

Additional benefits to renting from us:
We staff our store 6 days a week with courteous, knowledgeable employees who are prepared to address any problem with your rental instrument. We’re available until 7:00 weeknights, and all day Saturdays.We never require an appointment. If we need to retain your instrument for repair, we can generally provide a complimentary loaner. Our rental instruments are of a consistently high quality. Our rental fees include any necessary repair or maintenance work, and there is no cost to you should your instrument be lost, stolen, or damaged.
