A quick recap: the relevant info from our "Registration" page
During the school year, lessons are offered on a semester basis. Students register for the entire semester, or all the lessons remaining in the semester. Our fall semester begins right after Labor Day, and runs through January. The spring semester generally begins the first week of February, and runs through the end of the school year.

The 2008-2009 per-lesson rates are as follows:
$40.00 for each 30-min lesson; $60.00 for 45-min*; $80.00 per hour.

To calculate your tuition, we multiply the per-lesson amount by the number of lessons in the semester, plus a $20.00 registration fee (assessed once per family each semester). Tuition for the entire semester (or all remaining lessons) is payable in full upon registration, unless you register more than 60 days before the semester begins, in which case you may reserve your time by leaving a deposit. The balance of the tuition is due before the start of the semester; you'll receive a reminder in the mail a few weeks prior to that time reminding you about any balance due.

2008-2009 deposits (per student) are as follows:
$400.00 for 30-min lessons;
$600.00 for 45-min lessons*;
$800.00 for 60-min lessons

You may pay by check or credit card. We require that a credit card number be left on file, regardless of your mode of payment. Existing students are automatically re-registered in November for the following spring semester, and in April for the following fall. Simply notify us if you do not wish to continue, or if you prefer to pay by a mode other than the credit card that is on file. You'll always be reminded by mail regarding reregistration times, and notified of dates by which we require any information.

Specifics regarding the fall 2008 semester

The fall 2008 semester runs from Tuesday, September 2, 2008 through Saturday, January 31, 2009. Please refer to our calendar (available at the Music Center or online) for closings. Note that the week of January 26 is "make-up week". There is no tuition assessed for that week; that lesson is a make-up for one you may have missed during the semester. Since there's no charge, that week is not reflected in the information below.

Fall 2008 semester
On Mondays and Tuesdays there are 19 weeks in the semester.
Total tuition for 30-minute lessons: $780.00 ($400.00 deposit, $380.00 balance)
Total tuition for 45-minute lessons*: $1160.00 ($600.00 deposit, $560.00 balance)
Total tuition for 60-minute lessons: $1540.00 ($800.00 deposit, $740.00 balance)

On Thursdays there are 17 weeks in the semester.
Total tuition for 30-minute lessons: $700.00 ($400.00 deposit, $300.00 balance)
Total tuition for 45-minute lessons*: $1040.00 ($600.00 deposit, $440.00 balance)
Total tuition for 60-minute lessons: $1380.00 ($800.00 deposit, $580.00 balance)

On Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays there are 18 weeks in the semester.
Total tuition for 30-minute lessons: $740.00 ($400.00 deposit, $340.00 balance)
Total tuition for 45-minute lessons*: $1100.00 ($600.00 deposit, $500.00 balance)
Total tuition for 60-minute lessons: $1460.00 ($800.00 deposit, $660.00 balance)

As noted above, totals are based on the following rates, multiplied by the number of weeks in the semester:
$40.00 per 30-minute lesson
$60.00 per 45-minute lesson*
$80.00 per 60-minute lesson

The totals listed above include a $20.00 registration fee, which is assessed just once per family (household) each semester. For additional family members, the total (and the balance payment) would be $20.00 less than indicated.

Payment timetable
The following is our annual schedule for tuition payments:
Tuition is payable (and is usually assessed automatically) on or about the 1st of the month as indicated below:
April: Deposits payable to reserve your time for the upcoming fall semester.
August: Balances payable for the fall semester.
November: Deposits payable to reserve your time for the upcoming spring semester.
January: Balances payable for the spring semester.

Students are automatically re-enrolled, with payments assessed to your credit card. You will always be reminded of this via mail, in case you wish to discontinue, or use another mode of payment. You will also be notified if we do not have valid credit card information on file.
